What is planned

In today’s world, the impact of conflict on health systems and medical professionals is profound. In this trip upcoming in July 2025, I'll be joining a group of other medical professionals in Tel Aviv daily traveling to various hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, war zones, and military facilities to gain experience into the treatment of war casualties and rehabilitation practices in areas affected by conflict. Through dedicated visits to key medical and rehabilitation centers, we will gain invaluable knowledge of the challenges that healthcare professionals face while operating in these grueling environments.

Understanding the Challenges

We will not only explore the direct medical treatment of war casualties but will also delve into the psychological ramifications associated with working in conflict zones. One significant aspect of this program is the emphasis on secondary traumatization, which affects medical teams deeply as they manage their patients’ suffering. By uncovering these psychological challenges, the program will foster a greater understanding of the needs and strategies necessary for sustaining the mental well-being of medical professionals in high-stress settings.

Volunteer Work and Community Engagement

To complement the theoretical learning, this missional work includes hands-on experience where we'll engage directly with local efforts. Volunteering on agricultural farms and participating in community service initiatives not only enriches our own experience but also allows for us to contribute meaningfully to the local population. This engagement provides an essential perspective on the interplay between health, community resilience, and recovery in the aftermath of conflict.

Building Leaders in Medical Response

Beyond the key medical and rehabilitation strategies, this program will also explore military response strategies, including medical combat training and special search and rescue operations. By being equipped with this blend of knowledge and practical experience, we'll be better prepared to tackle the complexities of medical practice in conflict zones.
